The XS Foam Forming System simplifies the process of creating side rails for precast projects by eliminating the need for ripping material, screwing, nailing, or caulking. It includes: polystyrene foam rails, clear-facing tape, PSA tape, and optional reusable urethane flexible edge profiles. With the ability to form edges from ¾” up to 2” thick, the form edges are true with no bleeding between the casting surface and XS Forming.
The installation tools needed are just a tape measure, pencil, and knife. Thoroughly cleaning the casting surface with denatured alcohol or acetone, selecting the appropriate XS Foam rail thickness, and applying the tape properly are key steps in the process. Foam rails can be bent into desired shapes or radii, with clear-facing tape applied to the outside of the bend. Properly applying PSA tape and clear-facing tape across all foam rails ensures a seamless finish.
